The whole system
Hi-Lo assigns every rank a tag. Low cards seen are “used up,” so the count goes up (remaining shoe is better). High cards seen make the count go down.
Memorize the three buckets
Plus one: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Zero: 7, 8, 9. Minus one: 10, J, Q, K, A. Suits never matter — only the rank.
Speed comes after accuracy.
Tip: Say the tag out loud at first: “plus… plus… minus…” until it is automatic.
